Lyclear Dermal Cream 5% w/w 30g is an anti-parasitic treatment containing permethrin 5% w/w (50mg/g). It is used for the treatment of scabies and crab lice (pubic lice) infestations.

Lyclear Dermal Cream is applied directly to the skin and is suitable for adults and children aged 2 months and over. Children under 2 years should only be treated under close medical supervision.

How to use this product

How to use Lyclear Dermal Cream for scabies

1. Make sure the skin is clean, dry and cool before applying. If you have had a warm bath or shower, allow your skin to cool first.
2. Apply a thin layer of Lyclear Dermal Cream to the skin and gently rub it in. The cream disappears as it is rubbed into the skin, so you do not need to keep applying it until it remains visible.
3. Adults: Apply to the whole body, including the neck, palms of the hands and soles of the feet. The head and face can usually be left untreated unless these areas are affected by scabies. Pay particular attention to the skin between the fingers and toes, underneath the fingernails and toenails, wrists, elbows, armpits, external genital area and buttocks. Women should also apply the cream to the breasts.
4. Put on clean clothing after applying the cream.
5. Leave Lyclear Dermal Cream on for at least 8 hours, for example overnight. Do not bathe, shower or wash the treated skin during this period. If you wash your hands or another treated area during the 8 hours, reapply the cream to that area.
6. After at least 8 hours, wash the cream off thoroughly with soap and water.

A single application is usually sufficient. If the infestation persists or returns, treatment may need to be repeated after 14 days.

Recommended amounts for scabies

• Adults and adolescents over 12 years: up to 30g (one tube).
• Children aged 6–12 years: up to 15g (half a tube).
• Children aged 2 months–5 years: up to 7.5g (quarter of a tube).

These amounts are a guide and may need to be adjusted depending on the individual's body size and skin surface area.

Important: Children should be supervised during application. Children up to 23 months should only be treated under close medical supervision. Lyclear Dermal Cream should not normally be used in babies under 2 months unless specifically directed by a doctor.

Avoid contact with the eyes, inside the nose or throat, genital mucous membranes, and open wounds. If accidental contact occurs, rinse thoroughly with water.

Active Ingredients

• The active substance is permethrin (5% w/w equivalent to 50 mg/g). 
• The other ingredients are triglycerides (medium chain), glycerol monostearate 90%, macrogol (2) cetyl ether, glycerol, isopropyl myristate, liquid paraffin, wool alcohols, cetomacrogol 1000, carbomer 974P-NF, formaldehyde solution (see section 2), butylhydroxytoluene (E321) , sodium hydroxide and purified water.

For orders from the Island of Ireland over €60 with free shipping - €5.95 will be deducted from the amount refunded in order to cover shipping costs. For orders from outside the Island of Ireland over €150.00 the relevant shipping fee will be deducted from your refund amount.

In the unlikely event that your goods are faulty or have been damaged in transit, Pharmadirect.ie will provide a replacement. Please contact us. within 48 hours of delivery to report any issues.
