For oral use only.
Adults, including the elderly, and children aged 12 years and over: Take one to two 5ml spoonfuls at bedtime.
Children under 12 years: Do not give except on medical advice.
Where recommended by a medical professional:
- Children aged 6 years and over: One to two 5ml spoonfuls at night.
- Children aged 2–6 years: Half to one 5ml spoonful at night.
New users should start with the lowest recommended dose. Do not exceed the stated dose.
Senokot Syrup usually works within 8–12 hours. If there has been no bowel movement after three days, consult your doctor or healthcare professional.
Important Information
Senokot Syrup is intended for the short-term relief of occasional constipation. Long-term use of laxatives should be avoided unless advised by a healthcare professional.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Senokot Syrup contains maltitol liquid (E965). If you have been told that you have an intolerance to some sugars, speak to your doctor before taking this medicine.
It also contains methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), which may cause allergic reactions. The product contains a small amount of alcohol (ethanol).
