Before use, ensure the liquid column has fallen below the lowest numbered mark on the thermometer scale. Always clean the thermometer thoroughly before and after use.
For Oral Use:
Place the thermometer probe beneath the tongue and keep the lips closed around it. Leave in position for approximately 4 minutes.
For Axillary (Underarm) Use:
Place the thermometer under a dry armpit and hold the arm firmly against the body. Leave in position for approximately 4 minutes.
For Rectal Use:
Apply a suitable lubricant if required and carefully insert the thermometer approximately 2cm. Leave in position for approximately 4 minutes.
Reading the Temperature
After approximately 4 minutes, remove the thermometer and read the temperature from the scale. Rotating the thermometer gently from side to side may make the liquid column easier to see.
After use, hold the thermometer securely by the end and use rapid wrist movements to shake the liquid back below the measurement scale.
