Dissolve the contents of one sachet in exactly 200ml (approximately 7 fl oz) of drinking water.
Use fresh drinking water for adults and children. For infants where drinking water is unavailable, use freshly boiled and cooled water.
Prepare the solution immediately before use.
Adults, including the elderly:
Take 1 or 2 sachets after every loose stool, with each sachet dissolved separately in 200ml of water.
Children over 24 months:
Give 1 sachet after every loose stool.
Infants under 24 months:
Use only under medical advice. One to one-and-a-half times the usual 24-hour feed volume may be given as Dioralyte solution, as directed by a healthcare professional.
If vomiting accompanies diarrhoea, the prepared solution may be given or taken in small, frequent amounts.
Do not exceed 14 sachets in 24 hours.
Do not use for longer than 5 days.
If diarrhoea persists for more than 24–36 hours, seek medical advice.
